Ventura Pines Cottage Take Down and Construction
Construction began August 28, 2006. The framers, Mike VanderKooi Builders, began by meticulously removing roof and wall parts in large panels. We removed only those areas where we could construct new parts keeping the other areas protected from the weather. One of the most amazing executions of a remodel I have ever seen.

Each evening, the construction site and house was left clean ready to begin again in the morning. By September 14 everything of the existing structure was removed and trucked from the site.

When I asked Kirk (pictured), who is more accustomed to new construction, about the difficulties of removing the structural elements, he said "taking things apart isn't really much different than building them". I know Gail, like I was very impressed with their work and effort.

"Great progress today. You guys astound me, I am now fascinated by the construction process. I wish I were there,  but your website is the next best thing. Great work today." Gail.

With the house now setup and ready for the main construction of the structure, the guys fell right into step as though it was a new construction job. The walls went up on the second floor and then the trusses. It was a relief to all of us to finally have the structure closed in and protected from the weather.

We have setup a website for Gail, who resides in Florida, to stay up-to-date with every aspect of the building process throughout construction.

We include all the tools necessary to help our customers stay informed with all aspects of construction, including access to house plans that are continually updated as things change, check lists, a balance sheet that explains all financial aspects such as change orders, allowance balances, bank draws and up-to-dated financial records throughout construction.
